Seattle Counselor Reco?

New Member Posts: 2 Joined: 05/03/2012	I'm looking for a good counselor in the Seattle area (preferably on the east side) that specializes in SA. Does any one have any recommendations? I know that I'm going to need some counseling myself to get through this... Thanks!

I think you're really smart seeking a counselor that has experience working with clients with SA. From my experience - some of them sort of sweep it under the rug with the old "what's the problem" attitude. I've gone so far as to write up a request for proposal - with a summary of the situation and a series of questions in regard to how a counselor works, what their speciality is, how do they hold patients accountable, do they assign work outside of the session, etc. I'll do some digging around today in my files and see if I can track info down for you. Added later - Well the link I thought I had in an email seems to have vaporized into thin air. I hate that about computers! But I did come across another link that might be helpful. http://www.sexadd...selor.com/ I've not used them (and we aren't about endorsing any single resource). Rob Baker (Bellevue) is not a licensed doctor but rather a skilled counselor who is a Christian. He is the best I've ever run into. I cannot tell you how many times he has quietly pulled my heart out of my chest and gently allowed me to look at it all the while giving me a hug. The man is amazing. If you would like his phone number send me a message and I'll type it up for you. Rob works both with the man and the wife.
